Keith Medley's 27-String Guitar

Keith Medley's 27-String Guitar

Keith Medley plays the class “In the Hall of the Mountain King” on his custom-made 27-string guitar. No guitar lessons can prepare you to play this one-of-a-kind instrument, designed and built by Medley himself. Though “In the Hall of the Mountain King” is usually played by an entire orchestra, Medley has done an admirable job stripping the song down for performance on guitar. His twangy playing style and the sweet tones produced by his custom guitar provide a new perspective on the classic song, which will be instantly recognizable even if you aren’t a classical music aficionado. Keith Medley is a guitarist and luthier. This video is courtesy of documentary filmmaker Jon Grimson.
